Canoe Opasquia enjoyed another superb season. For the second year in a row, the weather cooperated for everyone. Unfortunately, lack of rain this season caused water levels to drop roughly three feet in the Opasquia Provincial Park . On the other hand, warm weeks lasting deep into September allowed canoeist to enjoy the fall canoeing throughout the park. Many people will admit that there is nothing greater than paddling the waters on a mild afternoon in September; gazing at the fall colors and enjoying the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) dancing in the starlit skies at night. On the whole, temperatures were consistent and remained warm throughout the summer. A number of warm spells in June and July again created warm water temperatures and offered numerous opportunities for swimming.

Word of mouth is spreading about Canoe Opasquia. T. Steplyk an experienced canoeist from Illinois quotes, “ It seems to me that the Opasquia Provincial Park is the next sight in the progression of places to canoe when the southern places have already been visited. It seems folks travel further and further seeking a bit more solitude and less traveled places. Canoe Opasquia's service of getting in and getting out seems very coordinated and dependable.
